Brother André was beatified in 1982 by Pope John Paul II and will canonized this October the 17th by Pope Benedict XVI. He is the second Canadian born to be named a saint and a remarkable model of holiness for all the faithful. Although many miracles were worked through his confident prayers he remained humble in his humanity. To those who came to him for prayers and healing he frequently said, "I am only a man, just like you".
